2019 edition of the African Cup of nations kicked off on Friday with a good start for the host country, Egypt piping Zimbabwe one nil.
Trezeguet put fire to Egypt’s persistent bombardment of the Zimbabwean goal post by scoring the only goal of the first match of the tournament in the 41st minute of the match in which Zimbabwean talent Chawapiwa also got the first card of the tournament – a yellow card.

The CAF has increased in 2019, prize money to be shared between the teams participating in the Africa Cup of Nations with the Champions earning US$4.5 million,Runners-up US$2.5 million,Semi-finalists US$2.0 million and Quarter-finalists US$800,000.
24 teams including the Super Eagles of Nigeria are competing in the tournament with Nigeria meeting Burundi in the first group B match on Saturday at the Alexandria stadium.
Nigeria is tied in group B with Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar.
