AFCON 2019: Nigeria, Burundi, Madagascar, Guinea to slug it out in preliminary matches

The Africa Cup of Nations 2019 draw held Friday night in Egypt has tied Nigeria to battle against Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in Group B in the preliminary stage of the tournament.
The draw has been made for this year’s AFCON with Mohamed Salah’s nation kicking off this year’s tournament against Sunday Chidzambwa’s side.
Hosts Egypt  will start this year’s Africa Cup of Nations against Zimbabwe on June 21 after being drawn alongside DR Conga, Uganda in Group A.
Elsewhere, South Africa has been drawn alongside Namibia, Ivory Coast and Morocco in what is widely being regarded as this year’s “Group of Death” in Group D.

Other groups are: Group C to feature Tanzanian, Algeria, Kenya and Senegal; Group D South Africa, Namibia, Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco; Group E: Angola, Mauritania, Mali, Tunisia and Group F Guinea Bissau, Benin, Ghana, Cameroon.
